Refunds and cancellation

How to stop paying for AirBubble, what happens to the period you have already paid for, and how a refund is handled when one is due.

Last updated 21 September 2026.

1. What this policy covers

This page covers subscriptions to AirBubble bought directly from AirBubble. It sits alongside the terms of service, which set out how billing works; where the two describe the same thing, this page wins on refunds and cancellation.

Nothing is for sale yet. The plans are placeholders, no price has been set, and no payment can be taken today. The app is free to download and use while that is true.

If we ever sell through a storefront rather than directly, that storefront takes the payment and runs its own refund process. We would not be able to refund those purchases ourselves, and we will say so here plainly when it happens.

2. How to cancel

You can cancel at any time, from your account, without talking to anyone and without giving a reason. If you cannot find the control, email hello@airbubble.io and we will cancel it for you.

There is no cancellation fee, no notice period and no minimum term. Cancelling stops the next renewal, nothing more: it does not end your access on the spot, and on its own it is not a request for a refund.

Cancelling is not the same as deleting your account. If you want your data erased as well, ask, and we will do it. The privacy policy covers what erasure means.

3. The rest of a period you have paid for

You keep the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling on the first day of a month you have paid for gives you the rest of that month.

When that period ends, the subscription stops and the account drops to the free plan. Nothing is deleted at that point, and you can come back later without starting again.

Cancelling part-way through a period does not by itself produce a partial refund for the unused days. Whether a refund is due at all is the next section.

Two cases where we refund the unused part of a period without you having to argue for it: if we close your paid account for a reason that is not your breach of the terms, and if we remove a paid feature you were relying on and there is no reasonable replacement.

4. The refund window

We have not decided this yet. There is no refund window in force today, and we would rather say that than name a number of days we then change. No one can be charged while that is true, so no one is waiting on the answer.

When it is settled, this section will say three things and nothing vaguer:

  • how long after a charge you can ask for it back;
  • whether that applies to renewals as well as to a first purchase;
  • whether using the app during the period changes the answer.

Until then, treat this page as describing the shape of the policy rather than promising an outcome. Outside any window we eventually set, we will still look at what happened: a charge you did not expect, a renewal you meant to cancel, a plan that never worked on your Mac. Ask us.

5. How a refund is issued

A refund goes back to the card or account that paid, through the payment processor that took the money. We cannot send it somewhere else, and we do not issue it as store credit unless you ask for credit and we agree.

How long it takes to appear on your statement is your bank's to decide, not ours. We will tell you when we have sent it. If the original payment method is closed, tell us and we will work out another way to get the money to you.

Refunds are made in the currency you were charged in. If your bank converted it, the exchange rate on the way back may differ from the rate on the way out, and any fee your bank charges is between you and them. Tax is refunded with the payment where the law requires it.

If you dispute a charge with your bank before asking us, we may pause the account while the dispute runs, because we cannot refund and defend the same charge at once. Asking us first is faster for both of us.

6. Rights this policy does not affect

Where you live, the law may give you a right to cancel a digital service within a set period after buying it, and other consumer protections besides. This policy is in addition to those rights, not instead of them.

Nothing on this page limits or removes a right you have by law. If our policy is less generous than your law on a point, your law applies on that point. The reviewed version will name the specific statutory windows for the markets we sell in.

7. Your data when a subscription ends

Cancelling or being refunded does not delete anything by itself. Your account stays, on the free plan, and your Notetaker sessions stay in the library on your Mac until you delete them.

There is nothing to hand back from the teaching lane, because the app never accumulated it. Screen frames are read only at the moment you release the chord, sent so a model can answer that one turn, and not kept as raw images afterwards. Speech goes to a transcription vendor to become text and is not held as a recording.

Agent runs leave a record of what was done rather than a copy of your screen, and those records age out on the schedule in the privacy policy, subscription or not.

If you want everything erased rather than parked, say so when you cancel and we will delete the account and its data. That is a separate request, and we will not do it unless you ask. Deleting your notes because you stopped paying would be the wrong default.

8. How to ask

Email hello@airbubble.io, or go through support. Tell us what you were charged, roughly when, and what went wrong. You do not need a reason to cancel, but a reason helps us fix the thing that caused it.

A person reads it and a person replies. We are not setting a response time in this draft, because we have not staffed one yet and a number we cannot hold to is worse than no number. If we decide not to refund you, we will say why in the same message rather than leaving you to guess.

We will update this page as the policy is decided, and change the date at the top when we do. Until the reviewed version replaces it, every clause above is a draft.

The rest of the paperwork

The documents this policy sits next to.

The terms set out how billing works. The privacy policy says what leaves your Mac, when, and how long it is kept. The pricing page is where the prices will land once they are decided.
